(PERU) - A 16-year-old Peru boy died and four other teens from Peru were injured late Friday after a car they were in crashed into a large tree off west river road in Miami county.
Police say Trintyn JA Hayes died after being transported to the hospital.
Two other passengers, 19 year-old Sy Taylor Norris and 19 year-old Coty McPherson were flown to a Fort Wayne Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the car, 19 year-old Shawn Swinford and a fourth passenger 15 year-old Jonathan Rich, were treated and released from the hospital.
Investigators say the crash happened when Swinford lost control of the car on a curve.
