(CARMEL) - A Carmel Police Detective is on paid leave following his arrest on a domestic violence charge.
Noblesville police arrested Brad Hedrick on Saturday, but Carmel Police will conduct their own internal investigation.
Spokesman Jeff Horner says possible discipline could range as high as termination, though any punishment of more than five days' suspension would require approval from the Police Merit Board.
If investigators conclude Hedrick didn't break any laws or department rules, he'd be reinstated. Horner says there's no way to tell how long the internal probe will take.
