A Divorce Rate Report Is Likely Inaccurate

(RICHMOND, IN) - A report that listed Richmond Indiana as having the nations highest divorce rate is likely inaccurate.

The report was released last week but now a Census Bureau worker says Wayne County's ranking of 19 percent has been misinterpreted.

Richmond Mayor Sally Hutton says she received numerous calls after the story was released.

The Census Bureau's American Community Survey says it simply tracks the number of people who are divorced and live in a county at any given time.

Floyd and Madison counties also made the survey's national top 10.
