(SOUTH BEND, IN) - The Chairman of the National Football Foundation, Archie Manning, says attendance figures forced the decision to move the College Football Hall of Fame from South Bend to Atlanta.
The announcement was made late last week.
The father of NFL Quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning acknowledges the rich football tradition of Notre Dame University, as well as less-than-capacity attendance at other sports halls of fame.
Manning says, "this decision doesn't reflect at all on Notre Dame."
Manning applauds the 3 and 0 starts by Peyton's Indianapolis Colts and Eli's New York Giants.
But he's not rooting for a Colts-Giants Super Bowl.
"We'd be elated for one but we'd be mighty sad for the other one," he said.
"I hope the Colts can win another Super Bowl and I hope the Giants can win another one but i'll go for different years."
