(EVANSVILLE, IN) - Evansville Mayor Jonathan says he plans to “vigorously” fight charges filed against the city over alleged illegal discharges of sewage.
For years now, Evansville officials have been meeting with the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to discuss ways to prevent raw sewage from getting into the Ohio River, Pigeon Creek and other public waterways.
Both agencies filed a lawsuit Monday, claiming Evansville had violated environmental laws on many occasions during the past ten years.
