(FORT WAYNE, IN) - It’s tune-up time again.
Hoosier heating companies are reminding homeowners to get their furnaces checked prior to the arrival of chilly fall and frigid winter temperatures.
Fort Wayne-based Gibson's Heating and Plumbing Comfort Advisor David Leeb says preventative maintenance should be performed about once a year by a licensed contractor.
The process usually takes about 45 to 90 minutes and involves cleaning and adjusting gas pressure.
Leeb says he most often encounters problems with dirty filters and plugged coils. Maintenance can cost up to $150.
