(UNDATED, IN) - Homeless veterans throughout Central Indiana converged on the AMVETS Post 99 in Indianapolis Thursday for the annual stand down to benefit them and their families.
Charles Haenlein, who heads the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation, has been associated with the event for the past ten years.
He says the stand down allows homeless vets to get a hot meal and acquire free clothing and other items that will help them survive the winter months.
