(FISHERS, IN) - A promised legal challenge to Indiana’s school funding formula is one step closer to court.
The Hamilton Southeastern Schools have hired a Chicago law firm specializing in education law to argue the funding gap between schools is unconstitutional.
Superintendent Brian Smith says the firm of Franczek Radelet gave HSE better-than-even odds of winning.
The district's funding per pupil has been going down despite soaring enrollment, while shrinking urban districts' money per pupil has risen.
