(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A chartered Northwest Airlines jetliner leaves Indianapolis International Airport today on the flight of a lifetime.
On board will be 150 elderly Hoosier veterans, most of them from the Korean and Vietnam conflicts with a few veterans of World War II.
They're flying to the nation's capital, at no cost them, to see their war memorials.
The trip was arranged by AMVETS Post #99 in Indianapolis.
Members raised $200,000 to pay for the trip, much of that amount from the bingo games held regularly at the post headquarters.
