(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Chrysler has given back $5.5 million in bonds to Tipton County, ending a dispute over millions of dollars the county spent to secure a transmission plant that the company’s supplier stopped building in 2008.
Officials say the county has dropped its request that Chrysler return $4.2 million for other bonds and $300,000 in county economic development funds.
The facility was expected to create up to 1,400 jobs.
