(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will inspect the eastbound I-465 bridge that was damaged in the explosion and fire of a propane truck Thursday morning in Indianapolis.
Will Wingfield with INDOT says there are two bridges, eastbound and westbound to I-465 from I-69 at that location.
The explosion occurred under the eastbound bridge.
Wingfield says a column under the bridge was damaged, but inspectors want to check the steel portions of the bridge which cooked in the heat from the propane explosion.
He says a team of structural engineers are ready to inspect the bridge once the wreckage is removed.
