(LAFAYETTE, IN) - A public work of art that has been on display in downtown Lafayette since November 2008 was found snapped in half Tuesday morning.
The sculpture by Eric Nordgulen was part of a million dollar downtown Lafayette street-scape project completed a year ago.
Sergeant Bob Baumgartner with the Lafayette Police Department says investigators believe someone climbed the bronze sculpture that resembles a 12 foot tree and managed to break it in half.
