(GARY, IN) - Gary Mayor Rudy Clay will travel to Las Vegas Wednesday to attend a news conference announcing the locations of the Michael Jackson-themed museum and a performing arts center.
Clay says he has accepted an invitation from LVH Magazine to attend the conference hosted by Michael's father, Joe Jackson.
The magazine says he is a part of the group that will lead the projects and part of the announcement will involve the state of Indiana and Clay.
Gary officials have made no secret over the years of their hopes to attract a Jackson-themed venue in the city.
After Jackson died, Mayor Clay says there has been more progress, including calls from parties interested in developing a Gary venue.
The magazine says museum could feature a replica of Jackson's boyhood home in Gary.
