(UNDATED) - Hoosiers can now begin applying for help with their winter heating bills through the federally funded energy assistance program.
To be eligible for assistance, households must have incomes no greater than 150 percent of the federal poverty level.
Those who meet the eligibility guidelines can receive assistance with electric and natural gas heating bills.
The Energy Assistance Program helped more 197-thousand Hoosier households last year, which is a record amount.
Hoosiers are encouraged to contact their local community action agency for more information.
