(MUNCIE, IN) - Burris Laboratory School in Muncie will be closed for the rest of the week because over 20% of the students are absent with flu-like symptoms.
The school, which is operated by Ball State University, is closing for two days.
A regular fall break had already been scheduled for Friday.
In Clinton County, Rossville Consolidated School Corporation is closed today.
They're also experiencing more than a 20% absentee rate because of the flu and will evaluate whether students should stay out longer.
Burris Laboratory School officials hopes keeping students out of class for a few days will slow the spread of the illness and provide the staff time to conduct a thorough cleaning.
