(WESTFIELD, IN) - The City of Westfield joins at least 23 other Indiana cities that have enacted smoking bans.
Westfield's ordinance, which took effect Wednesday, bans smoking in public places, outdoor venues and in restaurants and bars that allow people younger than 21 years of age.
A public place is generally defined as a place where the public goes to buy things, eat, or enjoy themselves.
Smoking is also banned in private homes which serve as daycare or adult health-care facilities.
