(STATEHOUSE) - The Indiana Supreme Court has set the execution date for a triple murderer.
Barring a stay of execution from the US Supreme Court or Clemency from Governor Mitch Daniels, 49-year-old Matthew Wrinkles will be put to death next month on December 11th.
Wrinkles was convicted in the 1994 slayings of his estranged wife, her brother and her brother's wife in Evansville.
He had argued that he received ineffective counsel during his trial because his lawyers did not object to him wearing a stun belt.
The last person to be executed by lethal injection in Indiana was in June of 2007.
Michael Lambert was put to death for the murder of Muncie Police Officer Gregg winters in December 1990.
