(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The man convicted in the Hamilton Avenue killings in Indianapolis, Desmond Turner, will be formally sentenced today.
It is already known that Turner will get life in prison without parole.
Judge Robert Altice found earlier that the state had proven six aggravating circumstances including the murders of three children.
Four adults also died in the attack in their home June 1st, 2006.
Altice rendered the guilty verdict himself after hearing the case in a rare bench trial.
Turner waived his right to a trial by jury in return for the Marion County Prosecutor's promise that he would drop his original intent to seek the death penalty.
Turner's co-defendant, James Stewart, will be tried before a jury next month.
