(ELKART, IN) - Six years ago, Elkhart County business, civic and community members created the “Horizon Plan”, a comprehensive vision for the future economic development and quality of life in the county.
The next phase of the plan, called Horizon 2.0 Innovation, Education and Implementation, kicked off workshops Wednesday in Goshen.
About 100 participants got insight on reshaping the educational and entrepreneurial future of Elkhart county.
Inside Indiana Business Host Gerry Dick was the moderator of the event.
He says participants are spearheading a genuine movement to come up with new ideas and new ways to promote the region.
Dick says the attendees were energized to take responsibility for turning around the county's economy.
He says the focus of Horizon 2.0 is to get the word out that, instead of doom and gloom, there's now opportunity for growth in Elkhart County.
