(TERRE HAUTE, IN) - The Veterans Day parade in Terre Haute today will hold even more significance this year because it will also be the funeral procession for Army Sgt. Dale Griffin.
The 29 year-old was killed October 27th by an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan.
President Barack Obama saluted his flag-draped coffin when griffin's body was returned to the US two days later.
All Terre Haute veterans' organizations are participating in the procession, which steps off at 4th and Wabash in downtown Terre Haute at 10:00AM Sgt.
Griffin's funeral service begins at 2:00PM in the gymnasium at Terre Haute South Vigo High School, where he graduated in 1999.
