(UNDATED) - Voters in Porter and St. Joseph counties have rejected the idea of a four-county transportation district in a special referendum Tuesday.
The referendum asked voters whether they favor the creation of a four-county district with authority to impose an income tax of up to 0.25 percent to provide a four-county rail system and a bus system serving Lake and Porter counties.
