(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Indiana Higher Education Commissioner Teresa Lubbers Tuesday responded to Governor Mitch Daniels request for college cuts.
The commission has been charged with making recommendations for $150 million dollars in cuts due to an extreme budget shortfall.
Lubbers says colleges have been very helpful during the process, teaming with the commission in finding ways to recommend cuts while ensuring academic excellence.
She says the cuts should not necessitate universities to raise tuition.
