(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - It appears the Indianapolis Tennis Championships could be bouncing to a new location.
In a statement released Monday from ITC Incorporated, the tournament is going to be sold and moved.
Officials with ITC say they "explored every conceivable scenario" to try and salvage the tournament, which has battled dwindling ticket sales and attendance in the last few years.
Bill Benner with the Convention and Visitor's Association says it is a blow to the local sports and tourism industries, but he isn't surprised. Benner says the tournament had been struggling financially in the last few years.
Benner says, despite this, the ICVA is still committed to bringing world-class sporting events and conventions to Indianapolis.
