Mother Stuffs Baby Under Porch To Go Shopping

(CROWN POINT, IN) - A Hammond woman is charged with felony neglect for allegedly leaving her 5-month-old baby girl under a porch.

Prosecutors say 21-year-old Paris Houston initially told police her child was taken during a carjacking.

She later admitted to placing her daughter under the porch so she could go Christmas shopping at a Walgreens store.

The baby was not seriously injured.
