(ANDERSON, IN) - There will still be an Anderson High School next school year.
The school board voted tonight to consolidate that school and the existing Highland High School.
But the highland high school name disappears.
There is sharp division over the choice, some backing the board's decision, some preferring Anderson Highland, still others suggesting Anderson Highland Heights.
The plan is for the Anderson High School Indians in grades 10 through 12 to attend that newly consolidated school, while the old Highland High School would become a middle school for grades seven through nine.
