(INDIANA STATEHOUSE) - The Indiana Senate has overwhelmingly approved legal guidelines for the drawing of legislative districts, while calling for a bipartisan study of whether the task should be handed off to an independent commission.
The senate voted 45-3 to create a 17-member panel to study ways to involve the public more in the redistricting process, as well as the possibility of an outside commission.
