Violent Crimes Down In Gary

(GARY, IN) - The city of Gary saw a drop in violent crime in 2009.

With 49 homicides reported in the city in 2009, Gary has the lowest number of violent deaths in at least two decades.

The average age of men killed was 32, slightly higher than previous years.

Only one teen died after being shot last year.
