(UNDATED) - Today is the day people across the nation will have their eyes on Punxatawney, Pennsylvania to see if “Phil” the groundhog will see his shadow…or not.
Across the state, cities and towns are having their own events.
This past weekend, the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore had a puppet groundhog on display offering to predict the weather.
In Carmel, an event is taking place at the Cool Creek Park and Nature Center.
Megan Gutierrez is a naturalist with Hamilton County.
She says groundhogs are actually known to be about 40% accurate when it comes to whether winter will end sooner rather than later.
