(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - An Indianapolis woman accused of conducting adoption scams has appeared in court.
28-year-old Amber Hope Jackson faces counts of forgery, theft and adoption deception after allegedly bilking five couples and adoption agencies of over $6,000 dollars.
Marion County Prosecutors Spokesman Mario Massilimany says Jackson scammed couples from Laporte, Muncie, Columbus and the state of Utah.
Jackson initially denied the charges, but later admitted to police that she conducted the scams. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
