(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Congressman Steve Buyer says a congressional ethics board has voted to close the complaint filed by CREW — the Citizens For Responsibility and Ethics.
The watchdog group claims Buyer set up the Frontier Foundation in 2003 to award college scholarships but has not yet granted one.
In a statement released Tuesday, Buyer says, the decision by the board confirms he acted appropriately. Buyer says the foundation was waiting to raise $1 million before awarding scholarships.
Crew says it's also filed a complaint with the IRS and is still awaiting a response.
