(UNDATED) - Indiana has lost an opportunity to receive federal funding for improving schools.
41 states applied for the U.S. Department of Education's "Race To The Top" competition. The finalists were announced Thursday, but Indiana was not selected.
Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett says education reform efforts will continue even though Indiana is not a finalist for the federal program.
