(INDIANA STATEHOUSE) - A bill to delay the increases in unemployment insurance premiums for Indiana businesses has cleared its final legislative hurdle.
State lawmakers reached a compromise behind closed doors to delay the premium increase in an effort to keep companies from making further job cuts.
The bill, if signed by Government Mitch Daniels, will forestall a scheduled increase for one year, instead of the two-year postponement requested by senate republicans.
