Student Suspended After Bringing Grenade To Class

(WAWASEE, IN) - A Wawasee Community School student is suspended after bringing a non-functioning hand grenade to class Monday.

A teacher at Milford Middle School found the grenade in the 14-year-old student's back pack.

The student told police that a family member had purchased the grenade at a gun and knife show and had given it to him as a present.

He had played with the grenade this past weekend and put it in his back pack, but forgot about it.
