Woman Sentenced For Torturing Children

(DELPHI, IN) - Sentencing has been handed down against a Kokomo woman accused of abusing and torturing two children.

44-year-old Madeline Hawk will serve 14 years in prison.

Police said the children, both age 4, were beaten repeatedly, bound with zip ties and were often kept in closets.

Hawk was one of four adults, including the mothers of the two children, arrested in 2008.

The trial was moved to Carroll County because of pre-trial publicity.
