(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A convicted rapist from Peru, Indiana, had his sentence extended by the Indiana Court of Appeals.
The court decided he should spend an additional 25 years in prison, making his sentence 118 years long.
Ironically, 35 year-old Jeffrey Akard had asked the court to reduce his sentence by 40 years.
A state Supreme Court ruling last year set a precedence for the court to increase sentences in unusual cases.
