(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Food and Drug Administration says it hasn’t decided whether to regulate salt content in processed foods.
Indianapolis Endocrinologist Carmella Evans-Molina says it's probably a good idea.
She says if you don't regulate it and the food industry is allowed to put more in, then that's what we get used to eating.
The Independent Institute of Medicine says the average American eats one and a half teaspoons of salt every day, more than twice as much as needed for good health.
