(UNDATED) - With just a few weeks left in its mail campaign, 71% of Hoosier households have returned their 2010 census forms to Uncle Sam.
Local census takers say Indiana's return rate is 6% higher than the national average and ranks fourth, behind only Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota.
Starting May 1st, census takers will be fanning out across neighborhoods to knock on the doors of all the homes who did not mail in a form.
