(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Metro Police are ready for the Final Four basketball championships.
Sgt. Matt Mount says the security and traffic enforcement will be much the same as it is for any Colts game with officers directing traffic around Lucas Oil Stadium and special patrols downtown.
Mounted police, bike officers, and officers on foot will patrol downtown, specifically around the bars and restaurants. Mount says police will also have an increased presence in Broad Ripple for Butler fans who may gather there and traffic flow may be altered to accommodate the expected crowds.
The weekend will bring concerts to the white River State Park.
Although state police will be the primary law enforcement agency in charge, Sgt. Mount says 60 additional IMPD officers will assist state troopers and 70 security officers hired by the park for the concerts.
