(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Metro Police say a vehicle pulled from a northeast side retention pond Thursday contained the body of 67 year-old Leonard “Tony” Perkins, who had been missing since Tuesday night.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine his cause of death.
An off-duty missing persons detective was in the area following up on the case when he noticed faint tire tracks going into the pond and some overturned rocks leading into the water.
Police say Perkins had called his wife on his cell phone late Tuesday night and said he was lost.
