(UNDATED) - Memorial Day weekend marks the first time many Hoosiers are firing up their outdoor grills.
Whether it's propane or charcoal, you should make safety a habit this grilling season.
Some apartment complexes or condo communities restrict the placement of grills on wooden patios, balconies or near shrubbery, so check first.
Positioning a grill too close to vinyl siding can not only melt the siding, but it's a potential fire hazard.
Do not grill on a covered patio or in a garage, even with the doors open.
Carbon monoxide can still build up and it is impossible to detect.
