(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Hundreds of volunteers walked the banks of the White River Saturday morning for the 22nd Annual White River Clean-Up.
Karen Haley with Sustainindy said about 250 volunteers turned up early to clean up six sites south of Washington Street along the White River in Marion County.
The volunteers clear away everything from tires to plastic bags.
Over the 22-year history of the cleanup, 6,000 volunteers have picked up 1.5 million tons of garbage.
