(MARION, IN) - A Marine from Indiana has been killed in action in Afghanistan.
The department of defense says 27-year-old First Lieutenant Brandon Barrett of Marion died Wednesday while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province.
Barrett graduated from Marion High School in 2001.
