(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Indiana’s medicaid program will receive $488,000 in a lawsuit settlement with pharmaceutical company Norvartis.
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller says the suit was over illegal off-label marketing of a cystic fibrosis drug.
The suit alleged the drug, known as "Tobi", was marketed for uses that were not eligible for state medicaid program coverage from January 2001 to July 2006.
The settlement is part of a $72.5 million agreement to compensate federal and state medicaid programs.
