(KOKOMO, IN) - A plan to attract another renewable energy company to the state has cleared a hurdle.
The Tipton County Council has approved a $13 million incentive plan designed to keep a solar panel manufacturer interested in the vacant Getrag Transmission Plant.
Members have approved a bond for the trust that owns the plant, which will use the money to lower the selling price.
The move is expected to keep the area in the running for the solar panel company and its potential of more than 800 jobs.
