(UNDATED) - The Indiana National Guard is encouraging residents to remember and thank soldiers who are fighting overseas this Memorial Day.
Since September 11th, 2001, more than 170 Hoosier soldiers and 80 members of the Indiana National Guard have lost their lives defending the country.
Major Shawn Gardner says it's important slow down and honor all of the men and women who are making personal sacrifices to preserve our way of life.
Indiana National Guard Adjutant General is honoring troops on Memorial Day at Washington Park East at around 3:00PM.
