(UNDATED) - As we head into swimming season, a new government report shows one in eight pools were closed in 2008 because of dirty water or other problems.
There are outbreaks from stomach bugs blamed on dirty pool water every year.
Johnston Hobbs, President of Indianapolis Pool Management, says pool rules are in place for a reason.
He suggests swimmers always shower, wear proper bathing suits and don't eat near the pool.
