(WASHINGTON, D-C) - Indiana Senator Richard Lugar has unveiled an energy bill he calls a practical alternative to President Obama’s cap-and-trade plan.
Lugar claims his plan would cut your electric bill an average of 15%, greenhouse gas emissions by 20% and foreign oil dependence by 40%.
Lugar's bill emphasizes energy efficiency.
Instead of requiring congressional action to raise fuel-efficiency standards for vehicles, Lugar wants automatic 4% increases every year.
