(BRISTOL, IN) - Indiana State Police Tuesday dedicated a post to retired State Senator Robert Meeks.
Governor Daniels joined Meeks at the ceremony outside of the toll road location in Bristol.
Before becoming a State Senator, Meeks served in law enforcement for 25 years, including 21 years with the state police.
In politics, the Republican from Lagrange served as Chairman of the Powerful Senate Appropriations Committee before his retirement in 2008 after suffering a stroke.
He is 76.
