(UNDATED) - Indiana State Police are reminding all motorists to do their part in making our highways safe during the 4th of July weekend.
Last year, two people were killed on Indiana roadways during the holiday; one of those fatal crashes was alcohol-related.
State police will be participating in operation C.A.R.E. and approximately 150 additional troopers to patrol state highways.
Troopers will be targeting impaired drivers, motorists who speed, follow too closely, make unsafe lane changes, drive aggressively and fail to buckle up.
