(LAFAYETTE, IN) - Renovation work at a Tippecanoe County High School uncovered several dead baby bats above the ceiling tiles last week. Construction workers at Harrison High School made the discovery and are now working to remove the bats before classes begin next month. USDA Wildlife Disease Biologist Dr. Joe Caudell says bats don't generally bother people, but their presence can be a nuisance. Most bats are protected by state law, so he suggests calling a private, nuisance wildlife control operator to deal with them.1340 AM WBIW welcomes comments and suggestions by calling 812.277.1340 during normal business hours or by email at comments@wbiw.com
